Right now our area suffers some of the highest sales taxes in the state, making it especially difficult for low income and retired citizens. Regarding income taxes, those fall within the realm of the federal government over which I would have little control. My biggest concern, again, is in a total restructuring of our state tax system. | |||

First, we must raise starting salaries to draw good teachers into our classrooms; reduce and maintain reasonable classroom sizes, provide current textbooks and other critical classroom needs. Education is one of my key priorities. I will work hard to provide strong education and educators for all of Arizona's children. | |||

| My top priorities when elected are the economy, jobs, education, transparency. I have a 5-point plan to address jobs and the economy which includes: (1) Keeping tax dollars in Arizona to support local jobs; (2) Working with local Chambers of Commerce, etc. to maintain our annual $16B tourism industry; (3) re-instituting funding to K-12 and expanding job training via community colleges and trade schools; (4) moving Arizona toward energy independence and (5) supporting the Four Forests Initiative. I will work diligently to restore much needed transparency and accountability within our state government. |
